Terms of Service

Last updated: September 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Roometer mobile app and roometer.app (together, the "Service"), operated by Said Belwahed, operating as Roometer ("Roometer," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Roometer, you agree to these Terms.

What Roometer is

Roometer helps roommates coordinate a shared home: splitting and rotating chores, tracking and splitting shared bills, keeping a shared fridge organized, running house votes that become a permanent decision log, and chatting. Everything you and your roommates create is shared within your own house — Roometer doesn't publish it anywhere else.

Roometer is a coordination and record-keeping tool, not a financial service. It records shared expenses but does not process payments, move money, or connect to your bank or card. The "Bills" feature calculates and displays who owes what, in cents, so it always adds up correctly — actually settling up (cash, a payment app, however you and your roommates prefer) happens entirely outside Roometer.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Notifications

Roometer doesn't currently send push notifications. If we add them in the future, they'll be low-key by design — no public callouts, no shaming, no counters — and you'll be able to turn them off at any time in your device settings. We'll update these Terms if that changes.

Your content, our license

You retain ownership of the content you post to Roometer. By posting content, you grant Roometer a license to host, store, and display it as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your chat message to your roommates, or your fridge photo to whoever opens that fridge section. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to the retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Roometer, its logo, and its brand are owned by Said Belwahed, operating as Roometer. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding beyond using the app as intended.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Roometer account at any time from Profile ▸ Delete account inside the app. Our account deletion page walks through the exact steps, but it's instructions only — the website itself does not process a deletion request. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you currently belong to a house, you'll need to move out first — see the Privacy Policy's "Deleting your account" section for the full detail on what's deleted versus what stays with your former house.

Service availability

We work to keep Roometer available and reliable, but we don't guarantee the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (or the Service as a whole) at any time. Where reasonably possible, we'll try to give you notice of a change that meaningfully affects your use of the Service.

Disclaimers

Roometer is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any calculation, reminder, or notification will always be delivered or accurate under every circumstance.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roometer and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including any dispute between roommates over chores, bills, or shared living arrangements. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months, if any.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Morocco, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Roometer will be resolved in the courts of Morocco. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot legally be limited in your country.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, let you know through the app. Continuing to use Roometer after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
